The best way to put this is, don't read what the description of the book says it will teach you, think about what the description is implying it will not teach you....Yes, it teaches you how to fix the hardware, some websites to get parts and it "covers" unlocking and "jailbreaking." BUT, if someone walks up to you and says anything along the lines of, "my iPhone keeps dropping calls, it says memory full but I have removed all music, photos, and unneeded apps, this or that app keeps crashing my phone, my phone turns off and back on for no reason, etc." This book will be of no help at all. It gives you some good sites for certifications and parts. But you will not walk away with any "secret diagnostic codes," or anything like that. Most of the information is available online. Also, as the book implies, repairs cost more than the phone itself. Just look up replacement screen prices. It is a good reference book for older iDevices and does have some good info. I just found it funny how hyped this book is all over the internet.

The detail, witt and content along with the photos couldn't be much better. I found this book a BIG help when it came to fixing my grand kids iPods (4 of them!). I know I don't want to repair iPods or I will have to charge more. I also fixed 2 iPhones too. This book almost made it fun to make repairs. The tips and tricks helped a lot too. Worth 2x the price!

This is an amazing guide that shows you step by step how to fix any Apple device. The author is very talented at describing the process in full color. If you were looking for why it broke, then this is not the guide for you. It dives right in and stays focused on the outcome: to fix the device.Simply excellent and practical.

Neat book. Does not actually show you how to fix every single model of every single Iproduct,but an essential read to be informed about your subject, if your subject is Apple phones and tablets.

This covers assembly and disassembly of iPads, iPhones 3, 4, 5 and recent iPod touch and nano models, with photos. It also explains why Apple considers the latter disposable. Along the way, it mentions common pitfalls, tools, parts and techniques, including how to recover iTunes content and how to REALLY delete all personal info before disposing of your iDevice. Great reference!

I bought this book ONLY for instructions on how to repair an IPod Classic. Guess what...everything EXCEPT the Classic was in this book. A little too much chit-chat to fill the pages. I was looking for nothing but technical stuff and wasn't happy with the extra useless blah blah blah.

Very informative yet easily understood. All in all a great read!
