This book helped me a lot when I had gout. My doctor gave me a list of food I can eat&food not to eat. And he gave me medicine,but this book gave me a list of so many other things i could eat. I'm better now,but I still use this cookbook. Thank you Monika Shah for coming out with this book.

It included some good recipes, but corn flakes? Seriously? I wish there a were a few more meat or fish recipes. I know that I'm supposed to eat those in moderation, but I can still eat them. There were only 4 chicken recipes and no fish. Cod, by the way, is lower in purine than chicken.The problem I'm having is that I'm finding so much conflicting information as to what I can and cannot eat. For example, one website told me that tomatoes trigger gout, yet this book contains recipes that include tomatoes. I'd also read that beans can trigger gout, while another says they're good for me.

The book was just useless as far as what foods to eat and to avoid. Many foods were just the opposite what we were told to eat.

Some good info, however some things were way off. Good for some referencing, but stick to your doctors advice.

The authors first language is obviously not English. Did not contain anything new or couldn't be found elsewhere. Some of the information was contradictory to professional medical advice, and sometimes itself.

Would have liked a little more info about the author and her references, but the information was very organized and checked out with what I read about gout on other websites, seems like very good diet info and I learned some new things

The book was informative, but the grammar was at a very low level. Many extra words, and errors.

Would like to know about author, if she is professional cook, or a doctor, or a registered dietitian.
