When a Scot Gives His Heart is one of the best books I've read in a very long time! Although it's a full length novel, I couldn't put it down and stayed up until I finished it!The story was really interesting from the first page. The hero and heroine were attracted to each other right away, so the romantic intrigue was there from the beginning. I fell in love with Callum, the brawny Scot who would do anything to protect his love, Marsaili, from her captors. He was led to believe that she had died and had mourned for her for three long years, only to find that she was alive and in a bad situation.Without giving away the fabulous story climax and ending, just know that this is one book you must read! It's a real winner if you love brawny Scots, strong women, intrigue, romance and a wonderful HEA!

Ms. Johnstone never disappoints and with each book in the series they keep gettting better. I absolutely enjoyed Callum and Marisaili’s story. The book is complete with betrayal, action and love. Marisaili and Callum met at her father castle where he intended to introduce her to her future husband which is not Callum. While Callum was at the Campbell castle he and Marisaili met and they began meeting in secret and with each secret meeting they fell in love with promises made between the two. However things go wrong for the two as they were both betrayed. The betrayals occurred by those who did not want the two together for one reason or another. After 3 years apart fate will bring them together again. Callum is shocked because he was told she had died and she is angry as she was told he had a fiancé at the time they met and that he used her. Through all the betrayals and obstacles standing in their way they must learn to trust each other before they can allow themselves to fall in love again. When they both realize they still love each other and secrets are revieled they discover they will fight together against those who would dare keep them apart from the one thing they both are determined to retrieve.There are alot more twist and turns to this story, but I will not spoil them. This is definitely a book that will remain on my shelve to read again. This book can be read as a stand alone, but I highly recommend reading all the books in this series.I received this book for an honest review.

Although I was looking forward to this book, I was also very sad as it’s the last full book in this brilliant series by Julie. This tells the story of Marsaili & Callum, firsts loves torn apart by scheming ruthless parents. They eventually find each other but it’s not an easy road back. As always Julie’s storytelling takes us through a rocky path but ultimately love finds a way. We also catch up with the brothers and their wives. This whole series has been fantastic & I cannot recommend it enough.

This is another great book in the Highlander Vows series. It grabs you from the first page and never quits it's exciting run. I read the entire book in one sitting, (my husband had to feed himself!) it was that enticing. The characters are so life like you feel as if you are there with them. Marsaili is a strong, independent woman and still shows her soft side. Callum? Just yum! There are plenty of ups and downs that had me cheering and then in tears. I have loved this entire series. Each book can be read as a standalone but it's nice the characters all flow from book to book.

I have been waiting for Marsaili"'s story and it didn't disappoint . Beautifully written . I always knew that there was a beautiful swan in Marsaili just waiting to merge ,not just in her looks but in her strong character which she has had since she was first introduced . She is truly a MacLeod.Callum makes you believe in the forever kind of love what is undying faith in Marsaili. Was sorry to see the series end but looking forward to Ms. Johnstone's next project .

Loved this last book in the series! Poor Marsaili had enough suffering to last her life time. After three years of believing she was betrayed by her one and only love, Callum, she finally finds out they were both victims of lies and manipulation by their own parents. They have to go through a lot of enemies and adventures together in order to find their child. What an amazing and happy ending for Marsaili and Callum. They truly deserved their happily ever after!

Hope at first sight.... that's what Callum and Marselli feel the first time they meet and it grows into so much more from there. They find in each other what they have both been seeking their whole lives. Both bullied and used by their parents for political gain, they are merely going through the motions until they find each other. However there are many obstacles stacked against them including their mistrust in each other built by lies of their parents. This was a wonderfully woven tale of following your heart and it's counterpart in another.**I was given an ARC for an honest review**

I am not usually a fan of these types of books because I am hooked on historical romance books but..... Julie Johnstone has captivated me with this series she has written! I am full believer of reading books in a series in order, and I can tell you this series will not disappoint you! Julie's books will steal your heart too! Read them you will feel the authenticity in her writings!
